The numbers don’t lie, I am far away from home.
There are days when I am homesick.
There are days when I am not.
Mostly,I feel brave.
And content.
And happy.
And fulfilled.
And thankful.
But don’t let that make you feel that I don’t love those of you back home.
Because you are forever imprinted on my heart.
I love signs like the one you showcased so beautifully and I enjoyed your words, too.

I love that sign. Saw it when we visited the South Island in February. Like your snaps of it better than mine. The black and white adds a sense of loneliness to it. I certainly felt homesick when I saw that NYC was 15008 km away.

The black and white does accentuate the loneliness. I like your assessment. I’m fascinated that you were within minutes from where I live and experienced similar emotions to the sign. 15,008 km distance is surreal. Will you be returning home soon? Thank you for sharing your experience!

🌞Thank you Dee. Likely will not return to until I complete my circumnavigation in a few years. But who knows what the future holds.
